But in a world now shaped by artificial intelligence, large language models, and post-human ambition, the question arises: can a system like Claude.ai — or any superintelligent AI — generate a better scale of civilization?


The Original Kardashev Scale: A Brief Overview

Proposed in 1964 by Soviet astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev, the scale classifies civilizations by their energy consumption capabilities:

  • Type I: Harnesses all the energy of its home planet (~10¹⁶ W)
